On July 19, 2025, the São Paulo Houdini User Group (SPHUG) welcomed artists, studios, and enthusiasts for an engaging day at Faculdade Méliès. Sponsored by GridMarkets, the event brought together talks, demonstrations, and conversations in a relaxed and supportive setting, helping strengthen the local VFX community.

Guest Presentations
The event will begin with an introduction to the production pipeline at HardcoreFX Studio, led by Guilherme Casagrandi. He will explain how a clear and well-structured workflow helps artists spend less time dealing with technical issues and more time doing what they love creating.
Rodrigo de Angelis will follow with a breakdown of his FX work on HBO’s Pennyworth. His talk will give everyone a rare look at the process behind a big production, showing both the technical challenges and the creative problem-solving that goes into making scenes come alive.
Fabricio Chamon will then shift gears with a session on Python and AI. He will show practical examples of how artists can take advantage of these tools inside Houdini, making complex tasks faster and opening the door to new kinds of experimentation.
Finally, Marco Rivera will wrap up the event by introducing AI and machine learning in Houdini. His session will be hands-on and approachable, giving participants a clear starting point to explore these technologies in their own work.
More Than Talks
Networking – The event will give Houdini users in São Paulo a chance to meet in person, exchange experiences, and form new contacts that will continue to grow the community.
Shared learning – From workflows to project breakdowns, the sessions will inspire curiosity and encourage open discussion among participants.
