QA/Testing

Position:             QA/Testing Specialist
Commitment:  Full Time
Reports to:        VP of Engineering
Location:            Remote, but North America time zone preferred

Description:  GridMarkets has built a multi-Cloud platform for high computational workloads currently focused on the animation/VFX rendering and biotech/pharma drug discovery markets.  Significant configuration and automation is required to ensure the platform works seamlessly 24x7 across multiple Cloud providers and systems scaling to 1000s of concurrent CPUs & GPUs.  We are therefore seeking an experienced and talented QA Tester to assess software quality through manual and automated testing.  You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches.  In this role, you should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills.  You should be competent in executing test cases and are passionate about quality.  Ultimately, you will ensure that the platform works correctly.



Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyse system specifications

  • Collaborate with engineering to develop effective strategies and test plans

  • Execute manual and, where possible, automated test cases and analyse results

  • Conduct post-release & implementation testing

  • Create logs and reports to document testing phases and defects

  • Report bugs and errors to developers

  • Monitor and analyse application and system logs to help troubleshoot production issues and provide 2nd-level support

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role

  • Experience in project management and QA methodology

  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus

  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

  • Working knowledge of test management software and SQL

  • Intermediate scripting with Python and shell scripts

  • Excellent communication skills in written and oral English

  • Attention to detail

  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Working with large scale production environments, including release management a bonus

  • Experience in distributed/parallel/grid-computing technologies a bonus

  • Ability to work autonomously and meticulously with flexibility and drive

  • Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-moving organisation, and actively contribute

  • Undergraduate or higher degree in computer science or related fields from a reputable university desirable, but NOT essential.

 

Compensation: Negotiable with options/equity for the right candidate
